Lego Toys are a line of construction toys that are made by Lego, a privately held company that is based in the town of Billund in Denmark. The Lego toys consist mainly of colorful interlocking studded plastic bricks which along with various gears, mini figurines and other accouterments fit together perfectly to create models of real life buildings, vehicles or characters.

These models can be easily deconstructed as well and they can provide you with engrossing entertainment for hours as you recreate and deconstruct your models. These Lego toy kits are sold in wide array of designs and some fans even acquire several kits in order to create a customized design.

The origin of Lego Toys can be traced to the workshop of Ole Kirk Christiansen, a carpenter who lived in the town of Billund in Denmark in the late 1930's. Christiansen had began creating his wooden toys which were in the form of wood blocks in 1932 which he later began to sell under the brand name of Lego. The company then began to produce plastic toys in 1940 and in 1949; it launched its now famous interlocking plastic building blocks.

Lego toys are considered extremely beneficial for the development of motor skills, coordination and color recognition in young children as well. The popularity of these Lego toys is international. The Lego Toys have inspired an entire subculture that supports a Lego toys official website, comics and movies, games and contests and even Lego themed amusement parks called LegoLand. There are currently four Legoland amusement parks in the world which feature thrilling rides, shows and attractions. These Lego Land parks are located in Billund in Denmark, in Windsor in the UK, in California in the USA and in Günzburg in Germany.

Lego has released a wide variety of play sets which have been inspired by every day themes and popular culture as well. Lego toy kits feature space, robots, pirates, Vikings, medieval castles, dinosaurs, holiday locations, the Wild West, the Arctic, airports, miners and fun activities like scuba diving.
